If I Could Jump, I’d be Somewhere Over the Moon at this One…
Over the past couple months or so, I’ve been emailing back & forth with the fantastically pleasant, terribly engaging, but most of all accommodating (an important adjective when dealing with one that is Chronically Ill) Ms. Kara Vanderbijl - a journalist from ‘Facets Magazine’. The magazine may be viewed online and I was especially honored to be profiled by them due to the fact that their tagline is “Embrace Your Diverse Life”. Isn’t that something special?
Anyway, by learning about me, she has produced for the magazine an extraordinarily informative profile called “The Indescribable Pain of a Light Breeze” (pg. 68-70) that’s a little bit my story and a lot more the story of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome/ Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (CRPS/RSD). In terms of raising awareness… this article is a showstopper :)
Here’s the fast take from their Tumblr:
Read the inspiring article now.
I agree! Go read it! Then spread it! Then tell everyone you know! Not about me (obviously), but about this disease! It’s so important! Let’s get the word out there people!!! Hurry!!!
Our day is coming. Awareness is coming. Funding is coming and with that a cure…
For a disease that has so far seemed to be the unpopular kid in the playground, the last one picked when choosing teams, the courageous one saying, “it’s ok Mommy,” when once again not invited to the party… awareness is definitely something that we - meaning all CRPS/RSD sufferers and all who have paved the way before me - should be proud of.
Love to you all. Hope that you have a pain free day & please be well. xx
