Did you know that September is National Pain Awareness Month?!?

Even better… do you know that there are a ton of exciting events going on all over the USA (and the web, so no excuses!) to raise awareness & education for the cause and to allow us to meet each other for support?!

Yup! It’s true! I am an excited little bunny about the whole shebang. Want to join in? Gosh, there’s so much! Here’s an exciting little sample of what’s going on:

WEEK 1: 

• PAINWeek - Las Vegas, Nevada
• Migraine Awareness Week - Virtual Activities (also taking place in the UK!)

WEEK 2: 

• Women in Pain (and Caregivers) Conference - Los Angeles, California & Webcast via For Grace (Looking forward to meeting y’all at this one! Please let me know if you’re planning to be there too! Registration is still open.)

WEEK 3: 

• RSDSA Conference (Anyone going? Very upset I can’t make it, so please let me know how it is!)
• TAKE-BACK Event - Phoenix, Arizona
• “Help Strike Out Chronic Pain”: Pain Awareness Night at the Park w/ the Arizona Diamondbacks - Phoenix, Arizona
• American Academy of Pain Management Conference - Phoenix, Arizona 

WEEK 4:

• Pain Connection Speaker Series - Wheaton, Maryland
• The 4th Annual Classy Awards for Philanthropists - San Diego, California (I’ll be at this one, too! Is anyone going else planning on being there?)

*In addition, the 10-16th of September marks National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week. There’ll be many virtual conferences going on for this, which is absolutely fantastic - not just for myself as a sufferer of the invisible illness CRPS/RSD - but for so many of us suffering the invisible side effects of pain (ex: depression, anxiety, etc.). I’ll be sure to put as much information as I can find on this event later on!

It’s all so exciting, no? Let’s take this opportunity to do as much as we can for the cause and to get the word out. There are also extra events being put on by local support groups so look out for those too. And of course, I’ll put up other events that I find, also. 

So, Happy Pain Awareness Month people! Who cares if it’s ‘national’?! Let’s work on making it ‘international’!
